In addition to our sponsored awards, each student and/or project have an opportunity to sign up and register for extra awards from our sponsors. Based on the sponsors choice, there are additional steps that need to be taken by the student in order to qualify. Below is the list of awards students can register for.

Central Arizona Chapter of the Association for Women in Science Awards of Excellence

Who can sign up?
  • Any female participant that is registered for 2012 AzSEF.
  • Grades 5-12
What do I need to sign up?
  • Enter a short summary of science fair project (must be 200 words or less). This summary will be used in the judging process so please check for grammar and spelling. Clearly and concisely explain the major findings of your science fair project and their significance. more info (pdf)

STC Writing Competition

The Phoenix chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) continues their longstanding tradition of judging the AzSEF project reports. Reports are judged based on compliance with ISEF standards and includes content organization, grammar, and spelling. Cash prizes are awarded to the winners in the middle school and high school (Junior and Senior Division).

For 2012, both rounds of judging will be conducted on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Phoenix Convention Center. Students who wish to compete for a cash prize must have a copy of their report laying in front of their display for judges to review.

Who can sign up?
  • Any registered student/project for 2012 AzSEF.
  • Grades 7-12 only
