Maricopa County - Students residing within 15 miles of the following affiliated fairs must place 1st in their category to be eligible to register for AzSEF:

All the fairs listed above are administered independently and choose their own rules and deadlines. Please consult each fairs page for further information. List of affiliated fairs for 2013 AzSEF will be updated periodically up to January 2013.


Students who have placed first in their school, local or regional fair will be eligible to participate at AzSEF. Any student that receives first place with their project in any division and/or category, regardless of number of first place winners in their respective division and/or category is eligible to participate; regardless of how many first place winners there are in total from school, local or regional fair they have participated in. Currently there is no limit set as to how many first place winners can register for AzSEF from your school, local or regional fair.

If your school does not have its own science fair or they will not be officially participating at established local or district fair in their area, you will still be able to register for established local or district fair in your area as home school project. You will still need to place first in order to participate at AzSEF.

Only if your school does not have its own science fair program, and there is no established local or regional science fair in your area, for this year only, you will be able to participate at AzSEF as home school student without having to place first at your school, local or district fair. This applies ONLY to students that do not have established school, local or district science fair programs in their area. All others will be disqualified.

AzSEF reserves the right to disqualify any student and/or project that does not follow these guidelines.

Below you will find detailed description of each phase of registration. It is recommended that you read the entire registration procedure in order to avoid any errors in registration process.

Step 1: Each school that has students attending needs to be registered first.
Step 2: Each science teacher that has students attending needs to be registered.
Step 3: Each project and its student(s) need to be registered in order to participate.
Step 4: Teacher will need to verify via confirmation email that project has placed first at school, local or district fair.
Step 5: Each student (not project) is required to submit a $10 registration fee.
Step 6: Each student (not project) needs to fill out and submit Photo Release Forms.
Step 7: Each project (not student) needs to fill out and submit ISEF Forms.
Step 8: Review our display/project rules and safety regulations for participation at AzSEF.
Step 9:
Register for additional awards.
Step 10: Participate at AzSEF.

*Home Schools: Home schools and its students are allowed to participate at AzSEF. Please follow the the outlined registration procedure beginning with step 1.

All registrations, forms and payments must be submitted by our deadline!


(Step 1) Register your school:
Who should complete this step: teacher, school associate or parent if home schooled

Each school with participating students will be required to register online to be able to register theirs teachers and students. After you have successfully submitted the school registration your teachers may begin registering immediately. It is strongly recommended that school registration gets completed by school official or teacher!

If your schools in not officially participating in our science fair program, you can still register as a home school project. You still need to register school and teacher for official participation. Please use your last name as a school name and register student’s parent or guardian as a teacher under your home school name.

(Step 2) Register your teachers:
Who should complete this step: teacher or parent if home schooled

Only science teachers who have their students attending need to be registered. After you successfully submit teacher registration you will receive an email to the address you have provided, asking you to confirm your registration. No students will be able to register under your name until you confirm your registration.

(Step 3) Register your projects and students:
Who should complete this step: students, teachers or parents assistance may be required for younger students

After your school and teacher have been successfully registered, students can register their projects. There is maximum limit of three (3) students per project and project number; and only one project per registration and project number. Any additional students for the project will not be allowed to participate. It is recommended that you print out the email and tape it to the back of the project board in question.

Please note that students in the same division (elementary, junior high or high school) will be able to register as a team, maximum of three students per team.
For example
:
Two 5th graders and one 6th grader will be able to register as a team, however one 6th grader and two 8th graders will not be able to register as a team.

(Step 4) Registration Verification:
Who should complete this step: teacher.

As per our new participation requirements only students/projects who have placed first in their school, local or regional fair will be eligible to participate at AzSEF. After student/project registration is submitted (Step 3) registered teacher will receive confirmation email which will request this verification. If the project is not verified by our student registration deadline, no students registered under this project will be able to participate at the fair. Meanwhile you can still complete steps 5-7.


(Step 5) Submit your registration fee:
Who should complete this step: students, teacher or parent.

Each student (not project) is required to submit a $10 online registration fee in order to participate. Some schools will pay for their students. To check on the status of you payment please visit our project search page. Any student that does not have a registration fee submitted to us by our deadline will not have a spot reserved at AzSEF, thus will not be able to participate

(Step 6) Submit your Photo Release form:
Who should complete this step: students or parents/guardians is student is under 18.

Each student (not project) needs to obtain and submit a Photo Release Form. Photo Release forms is located on our forms page. You will be able to submit your completed form on same page.


(Step 7) Submit you ISEF forms:
Who should complete this step: students, teacher, parent and/or mentor/scientist in question.

Each project (not student) needs to obtain and submit ISEF forms. To obtain forms specific to your project please complete the ISEF Rule Wizard located on our forms page. You will be able to submit your completed forms on same page.


(Step 8) Rules and Regulations:
Who should complete this step: students, teacher, parent and/or mentor/scientist in question.

We ask each participating student/project, their teachers and parents to review our brief display/project rules and safety regulations for successful participation at AzSEF.


(Step 9) Register for additional awards:
Who should complete this step: students.

In addition to our sponsored awards that you do not need to register for, students and projects have an option to sign up for additional awards. These awards usually require students to meet certain criteria to be eligible. Review our awards for more details.


(Step 10) Participate at AzSEF:
Who should complete this step: students, teacher, parent and/or mentor/scientist in question.
